A Louisiana tow operator was struck and killed Wednesday, April 3, on I-49 in St. Laundry Parish in close proximity to the village of Washington, LA.
Operator Shannon Thibodeaux, 34, of Lafayette was helping a disabled automobile with a flat tire on the proper shoulder at close to 2 a.m.
A driver in an approaching F-150 pickup left the interstate and rear-finished the disabled car or truck, pushing it into the tow truck.
Thibodeaux and a passenger of the disabled car or truck, Janie Hobbs, 67, also of Lafayette, have been standing outside the house of their automobiles and had been the two hit and died at the scene.
The driver of the F-150, the driver of the disabled auto and two additional passengers in the disabled automobile were being taken to a nearby clinic with reasonable to extreme injuries.
Louisiana Condition Police troopers mentioned fees are pending against the driver of the F-150.
The crash is beneath investigation.
